The house

A harbourmaster’s house, kept for guests.

Built in 1901 on the high lane above Wren’s Hollow, the inn has weathered a century of salt wind and kept its good bones — wide floorboards, deep sills, and a hearth that’s rarely let go cold.

We keep it small on purpose. Nine rooms, a single table at dinner, and time enough to point you toward the quiet coves the day-trippers never find.

One dinner, written each morning from the day-boat catch and the garden — four courses, served at eight, for house guests only.
02The grounds
A walled garden that feeds the kitchen, a sun terrace for afternoon tea, and a private path down through the gorse to the shore.
03The village
Five minutes down the lane: a working harbour, two good pubs, and a scatter of galleries in the old fishermen’s cottages.

The setting

On the high lane above the harbour.

Two hours from the city, and a world away from it. The last stretch is a single-track lane — slow down, roll the window down, and you’ll hear the water before you see us.
